Revisiting Chinese Ghost Cities
Ghost towns in China are still empty 6 years later. The majority of apartments were sold to speculators. Prices for most have already doubled. The catch is that nobody lives in them. The above video was shot in the Chenggong city district - one of the largest ghost cities in Asia.
Another video (below) shows the same city, Chenggong. The video was shot on Wednesday in the middle of the day. It is estimated that only 10% of the buildings are occupied. Five years ago Chenggong was farmland and now they are building a subway due to extreme traffic congestion! See the epic video below:
By the way, remember Ordos? A city which cost over $160 billion to construct? It currently has a capacity of 300,000 people but only 20,000 to 30,000 people actually live there. The original goal was to create a metropolis with over 1 million people. To this day the city is empty, well, except for the skateboarders.

And then there is Little Paris near Shanghai. A district built in 2007 for about 100,000 residents with only 2000 current residents. On the bright side, they have an Eiffel Tower replica.
